For the first time ever, Microsoft will partner with Silicon Valley's premier startup accelerators to help student teams bring their US Imagine Cup ideas to life! Microsoft has invited all teams who wish to compete in their Games, Innovation and World Citizenship competitions to submit their application early through their US Student Start-Up Accelerator submission site. Who's Eligible

The accelerator is open to legal residents of the 50 United States and District of Columbia, who are 16 years of age or older and actively enrolled as a student (including as a graduate or doctoral student) at an accredited educational institution that grants high-school or college/university (or equivalent) degrees (including homeschools) located in the 50 United States (including the District of Columbia) at any time between October 12, 2012 and May 13, 2013.

Competition Prizes

Training on how to take their app from idea to prototype in time for the US Imagine Cup competition

Weekly mentoring and technical guidance from successful entrepreneurs and technology industry experts

Invitation to a 5-day Silicon Valley “Start-Up School” in March at Microsoft’s expense (including flights, hotel and food)

The opportunity to participate in a product Demo Day in Silicon Valley with $6,000 in prizes and an audience of investors, press, and technology industry professionals

The chance to attend the worldwide final event in St. Petersburg, Russia, with over $300,000 in prizes
