Any full-time or part-time student who is enrolled in a degree-seeking program at an accredited college or university in Washington State can submit his/her 5- to 7-page executive summary to the competition. Companies generating revenue must not have earned more than $500,000 in annual revenue.
- Important Dates
Executive summaries must be submitted by all teams on April 3, 2012. The Investment Round, trade-show style event, is on April 25, 2012. Advancing teams must submit a full business plan on May 17, 2012. The "Sweet Sixteen" Round and the Final Round of the Business Plan Competition will take place on May 24, 2012 on UW's campus in Seattle, Washington. That evening there is an awards dinner at Bell Harbor in downtown Seattle.

Detailed prize information for the 2012 business plan competition has not yet been released. Last year, prizes totaled over $140,000.

The UW business plan competition offers a series of "Resource Nights" during the months of January - March to help competing teams prepare their business plans and presentations.
