Who's Eligible
Entrants must be enrolled in undergraduate or graduate classes at the University of Pittsburgh Oakland Campus. 

Participants can compete in three competition categories: 
 - Best Business Growth category - for existing businesses with novel plans to expand
 - Best Interdisciplinary Team Idea - Teams must have at least one business student and one non-business student
 - Best New Service/Product - for innovative, new products/services that do not currently exist in the market. 
Important Dates

Participants must submit an application by January 28, 2011. Semi-finalist project summaries are due on February 11, 2011. Finalists will be invited to deliver a 2-minute funding pitch at the Big Idea Networking and Awards Event on March 30, 2011.

Competition Prizes

In each category, 2010 competition winners receieved:

1st place - $5,000

2nd place: $1,000

3rd place: $500

Other Info

Student entrepreneurs, faculty, alumni, regional entrepreneurs, program sponsors and champions of entrepreneurship come together each March for the Big Idea Networking and Awards Event. Undergraduate and graduate students from across the University pitch their ideas to a panel of judges, who determine the cash prize winners for the evening.
