The contest is open to ventures headquartered in North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia, and to students enrolled in accredited universities, colleges and community colleges in the same geographical area. Companies must be early stage (less than $350,000 in cumulative revenue)
- Important Dates
Executive summaries are due on March 1, 2011. Finalists will be announced on March 18, following a round of semi-finalist presentations. The final round of the business plan competition will take place on April 14, 2011.
- Competition Prizes
The 2010 Five Ventures Business Plan Competition awarded $7,500 in prizes, with the top prize in each category being $1,000.
- Other Info
There is a $75 application fee for non-student teams.
The 2011 business plan competition will consist of two distinct categories: 1) Student Ventures and 2)For-Profit and Social Enterprise Ventures.
A series of workshops will be offered to all competition participants.
