- Who's Eligible
Must be 18 years old to apply.
Applicants must be established or potential entrepreneurs/companies with a profitable and well-thought-out business idea.
Business ventures must be technology-based with an application on the one-gigabit Google Fiber Network.
- Important Dates
The application period will open on October 3, 2011. Applications are due on November 18, 2011. All semi-finalists must submit a 10-page business plan by December 9, 2011. Finalists will be announced on December 16, 2011, and will present their final pitch on January 18, 2012. Winners will be announced following the presentations.
- Competition Prizes
The grand prize winner will receive $100,000 in cash and services. A total of $200,000 will be awarded.
A "Born Global" Prize will also be awarded that offers a $250,000 convertible promissory note.
- Other Info
The Google fiber network in Kansas City will allow entrepreneurs to develop new business ideas with Internet speeds up to 100 times faster than the current state-of-the-art.
