Who's Eligible

The competition is open to all full- and part-time graduate students, not just MBA candidates, enrolled in a university. The management team must consist of at least one graduate student.  Non-students may be members of the management team and participate in planning the venture; however, only students may present the plan in the competition on campus and answer questions from the judges.

The competition is for new, independent ventures in the seed, start-up, or early growth stages. 
Important Dates

Team application begins on November 1, 2010. Applications and executive summaries are due on February 18, 2011.  Qualifying teams will be asked to submit a full business plan by March 21, 2011. The final Competition will take place April 14-16, 2011.

Competition Prizes

More than $1 Million in cash and in-kind prizes will be awarded. A $325,000 cash and investment prize will be offered to the Grand Prize winner of the competition.  Total investment prizes will total $750,000 and total cash and investment prizes will be $1,300,000.

Other Info

After the submission of an Intent to Compete and an executive summary, semi-finalists will be announced and asked to deliver a full-fledged business plan. Finalists will be announced and invited to the final competition, during which activities such as an elevator pitch round, a challenge/wildcard round, as well as oral presentations will take place to determine the prize winners.
