Rhode Island Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship

Applicants can enter into one of three competition tracks: 

Entrepreneur track - open to any entrepreneur 18 or older. 

Student track - All key members of the team must be enrolled in and attending an accredited  college or university. 

Special Awards - Open to anyone developing a business plan focused on eco-friendly industries. 

Applicants don't have to be Rhode Island residents, but must agree to base their business operations in Rhode Island if the are named a competition finalist or winner. 

Applications are due on April 2, 2012. All semi-finalists must submit a full business plan by April 17, 2012. At the final event on May 3, 2012, finalists will present their plans to a public audience. Winners will be announce following the presentations. 

Winners and finalists will share cash and in-kind service prizes. The total amount of the prizes will be announced once the competition draws closer. 

The Rhode Island Business Plan Competition offers a series of work shops prior to the application deadline to help entrants prepare their business plans and presentations.
