- Participants can submit proposals for business ideas, models, and plans that seize opportunities in the evolving music industry. Proposals should provide new or improved ways to encourage and monetize creativity in the music industry. Applicants must be 18 years or older, and proposals must be submitted in English.
- Important Dates
1st round executive summary submissions are due by February 1, 2011. Participants selected as finalists must submit a complete written business plan by March 15, 2011. Finalists will present their proposals at the ReThink Conference in Boston, Massachusetts on April 25-27, 2011.
- Competition Prizes
$50,000 cash prize to the first place submission, and $5,000 to the first runner-up, and additional in-kind consulting services (legal, accounting) may be available

This Business Model Competition is a part of an upcoming conference, "Rethink Music: Creativity, Commerce and Policy in the 21st Century," scheduled to be held in Boston and Cambridge, MA in April 2011. The "Rethink Music" symposium will focus on business and policy concerns that influence the viability of the creative industries.
