Who's Eligible

Open to US-based start-up businesses in the life sciences industry. Businesses must be less than three years old and have no more than 10 full-time employees. The business plans must be based on research conducted at a college or university - this includes teaching hospitals and research labs. 

Important Dates

The deadline to submit registration forms and executive summaries is July 13, 2011 (extended). Semi-finalists must submit their final business plans by September 1, 2011. Finalists will be announced on October 13, 2011, and will present their business plans on November 10, 2011.

Competition Prizes

1st place: $50,000

2nd place: $25,000

3rd place: $12,500

4th place: $5,000

Other finalists: $2,500 each

Other Info

The Life Sciences Business Plan Competition will consist of three phases: The Executive Summary phase, the Business Plan phrase, and the Presentation Phase.

Executive Summaries, Business plans, and presentations will be evaluated on the criteria of commercial viability, technical viability, financial viability, and strength of the management team and management and technical advisory boards.
