Who's Eligible
The proposed venture must be a new business idea that has not yet been in operation or an existing business that is not over one year old. The business must be located or proposed to be located in one of three eligible regions that can be found on the competition's website
Important Dates

All participants must submit their applications by August 19, 2011. Final business plans must be delivered by October 7, 2011. Entrants will present their business plans to a panel of judges on November 2, 2011, and an awards ceremony will follow.

Competition Prizes

1st place: $3,500 cash prize, 2 hours of donated professional time from each of the 5 competition judges

2nd place: $2,500 cash prize, 1 hour of professional time from each of the 5 competition judges

3rd place: $1,000 cash prize

Modeled after the hit television show the Dragon's Den, the Pembina Valley Venture Challenge encourages and promotes Entrepreneurial spirit within the Pembina Valley region.

Community Futures Heartland provides a variety of business and community development services to the region such as business planning assistance, repayable loans, support for community development initiatives, project support and training opportunities.
