The Entrepreneurs Challenge consists of three competitions, held concurrently: The New Venture Competition, the Social Venture Competition, and the Technology Venture Competition. In each of these, teams must have at least one member who is a NYU Stern School of Business student, alumnus, or faculty member.
The New Venture Competition is open to all business sectors.
Those entering the Social Venture Competition must be pursuing social impact and financial profitability or sustainability with their venture.
The Technology Venture Competition is open to teams with businesses based upon a pre-existing technology.
- Important Dates
Teams must register for the competition and pay the application fee by October 6, 2011. Following several participant workshops and narrowing the field to semi-finalists, final business plans must be submitted on April 11, 2012. The first round of business plan pitches will take place on April 20, 2012, after which finalist teams will be selected. The Final Pitch-Off will take place on May 4, 2012, followed by an Award Ceremony.
- Competition Prizes
The winner of the New Venture Competition will receive the $75,000 Rennert Prize.
The winner of the Social Venture Competition will receive the $50,000 Social Venture Prize.
The winner of the Technology Venture Competition will receive a $75,000 cash prize.

The Entrepreneurs Challenge consists of four rounds of judging: A feasibility analysis round, a business plan round, and two pitch rounds.
The application fee is $75 for student teams and $150 for alumni teams.
