University of Oregon's Lundquist Center for Entrepreneurship

Currently enrolled graduate students. At least one member of each team must be a graduate student; however, undergraduate students and non-students are allowed to participate on the management team. The competition is for new, independent ventures in the seed, start‐up, or early growth stages.

Intent to Compete forms and Qualifying Executive Summary are due February 13, 2012. Semi Finalist Business Plans are due March 22, 2012. The final competition takes place April 5-7, 2012 in Portland, Oregon

First Place and Official New Venture Champion: $25,000, plus automatic berth in the  2012 Venture Labs Investment Competition and automatic berth in 2013 New Venture Championship

Second Place: $10,000

Runner-Up Finalists: $2,000

Best Written Business Plan: $1,000

Tektronix Trade Show Award: $1,000

Tektronix Elevator Pitch Award: $1,000

OEN Lightning Round Prizes: $10,000 distributed amongst the Lightning Round competitors.

The New Venture Championship takes place over three days, and includes six “rounds of innovation” – Start-Up Round, Trade Show, Elevator Pitch, Semi-final, Lightning (consolation) Round, and Final Round.
