The inaugural Long Island Young Entrepreneur Challenge, sponsored by Empire Facilities Management Group and Capital One Bank, and supported by national corporate and nonprofit sponsors, seeks to promote entrepreneurship and provide mentorship to foster economic development on Long Island.

The LI YEC is divided into two tracks: (1) the Entrepreneur Track open to individuals who reside on Long Island and (2) the Student Track open to those who are full-time undergraduate students at an accredited Long Island College or University.
- Competition Prizes
The winner of each Track will receive $10,000 in start-up funding, mentorship, and additional support essential for starting a business.
Additional Top 10 finalist will receive mentorship and will qualify for the live pitch in the 2013 competition.
