Open to all senior and graduate students enrolled full-time at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
The prize is awarded to a student who has created or improved a product or process, applied a technology in a new way, or demonstrated other outstanding inventiveness.
- Important Dates
Applications must be submitted by December 19, 2011. Judging of the entries will take place in January 2012, and finalist interviews will take place the week of January 31, 2012. An awards ceremony to announce the winner will take place on March 7, 2012.
- Competition Prizes
The $30,000 cash prize will be awarded to one student.

This award is offered in partnership with the Lemelson-MIT Program at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, a non-profit organization that recognizes outstanding inventors, encourages sustainable new solutions to real world problems, and enables and inspires young people to pursue creative lives and careers through invention.
