Open to Indiana University Bloomington full-time students. Students must either be undergraduate students with senior standing or graduate students.
The competition seeks business plans for internet, technology or software businesses.
- Important Dates
All participants must complete a pre-registration form and submit it by October 31, 2011. Business concepts are due on November 14, 2011. Students who move on to round two must submit written business plans and video elevator pitches by January 30, 2012. Final presentations will take place on a date still to be determined in April 2012. Winners will also be announced in April.
- Competition Prizes
The grand prize winner will receive at least $100,000 in investment. The rest of the $250,000 investment will be distributed among the remaining finalists.
If the new businesses succeed, Indiana University will receive an initial 10 percent equity stake in each winning company, with any returns on investment going back to the School of Informatics and Computing and the Kelley School of Business.

This competition is made possible by the $1.1 million Building Entrepreneurs in Software and Technology fund, created by a group of 10 individual investors, with an additional $100,000 from Indiana University's Research and Technology Corporation.
