CU Cleantech New Venture Challenge 2013

Description

The CU Cleantech New Venture Challenge is a U.S. Department of Energy sponsored $100,000 regional cleantech business plan competition. The competition is open to students in Colorado, Iowa, Kansas, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, Utah & Wyoming. It's a competition for students, run by students, where young entrepreneurs and innovators can develop their cleantech ideas into viable business opportunities.

The winning team will receive $100,000 in cash plus the opportunity to compete for more cash prizes at the nationals competition in Washington D.C.

Who's Eligible

Business must utilize a technology related to renewable energy or energy efficiency. 

50% of team members must be current students

Students must own 20% of the company equity

1st place: $100 cash, 40 hours of NREL commercialization assistance, and entry into Cleantech Open Accelerator Program

2nd place: 40 hours of NREL commercialization assistance, and entry into Cleantech Open Accelerator Program
