The 2012 Mobile Apps “Concept to Company” Competition will focus on mobile device applications. The main objective of the contest is to encourage and support entrepreneurial innovators with the intent of helping them turn their concepts into a company. The contest is designed to help those who have advanced their product down the road but just need a little extra help to succeed.
The contest is organized and hosted by Grow Utah Ventures and Zions Bank. The premier sponsors of the contest are Zions Bank, Thorpe North & Western IP Law, Bennett Tueller Johnson & Deere Law, Grant Thornton Accounting Financial Services, NorthFront Business Resource Center, & Weber State University. They all have a common passion for supporting Utah's entrepreneurs and inventors and growing Utah’s industry clusters. These sponsors will be covering the costs of the contest as well as offering up the prize money and services. Many other industry experts and business leaders will also contribute their time and resources as judges.

- Who's Eligible
This competition is open to legal residents of Utah 18 years of age and over who are
located in the State at the time of entry. This competition is also open to existing small business with a primary business location in Utah and whose contest applicant resides in Utah. The business must also have annual revenues of less than $5million. Winners are expected to keep their business and develop their winning ideas in Utah.
The following are not eligible: judging and Contest agencies involved in the administration, development, fulfillment and execution of this Contest (collectively, Contest Parties and the immediate family members (spouse, parent, child, sibling, grandparent, and spouse of each).
- Competition Prizes
Three winners will share amongst a total of $45,000 in cash and services to help bring their idea to fruition ($22,500 for grand prize winner and $11,250 each for two runner-up winners). In addition, all finalists will enjoy a rare opportunity to present their ideas to industry leaders and form possible strategic relationships that would otherwise not happen.
