Cincinnati Innovates is sponsored by several Cincinnati-based organizations.
- Who's Eligible
- Anyone with a technology or innovation with a Greater Cincinnati connection. The commercialization awards are given only to companies that agree to locate their businesses in Ohio (CincyTech awards) or Kentucky (Northern Kentucky Commercialization Award).
- Important Dates
Entrants must submit registration form and idea by September 1, 2010. Winners will be announced at an awards event on September 22, 2010 in downtown Cincinnati.
- Competition Prizes
The commercialization awards are cash prizes of $25,000 and $10,000 provided by CincyTech, and $10,000 provided by a Northern Kentucky consortium (Northern Kentucky eZone, Vision 2015, Northern Kentucky Tri-Ed, and biologic). In-kind service awards include legal services, design and branding services, web application services, and business accounting and advisory services. The $2,000 cash prize community choice award is determined by ranking and page views on the CincinnatiInnovates.com website. There is also a cash prize of $1,000 for the best student innovator (an enrolled student).

This competition is designed to showcase the technological, artistic, and ingenious innovations of all Cincinnatians – whether from Cincinnati originally or living or working in the Greater Cincinnati area (OH, IN, KY) now. All levels of technical expertise are welcome. The submitted concept can be in any stage of development from a drawing to a retail ready product or existing business.
