- Applicants must either plan to start a business or have an existing business that is no more than five years old.All business plans must be based in the City of Binghamton.Applicants must either have been a client of the Entrepreneurial Assistance Program at Broome Community College at some point since September 2005 or must attend a one-day workshop on business plan development.
- Important Dates
Registration deadline is March 4, 2011. Those contestants selected as finalists must submit a written business plan by May 27, 2011. Finalists will give 15-minute oral presentations to the judges panel on June 14-15, 2011. The business plan competition winner will be announced on June 23, 2011, following the monthly BLDC board meeting.

This competition offers not only a cash prize to be used for a new business in the City, but also helpful training for all those who are starting a company—or are interested in doing so.
