Who's Eligible

Open to new, innovative ventures in the seed or early-growth stages, or for existing businesses moving into a new high-growth market.

At least one member of each team must be affiliated with one of the six participating Alabama universities. 

Teams must agree to launch the proposed business in Alabama and maintain primary business operations there for at least 5 years. 

Important Dates

The registration period for this business plan competition will close on October 10, 2011. All advancing teams must submit a full business plan by November 14, 2011. The Launchpad Finale will be held on a date to be determined in April 2012. 

Competition Prizes

In total, up to $200,000 in cash awards are available, as well as $200,000 in market assessments. 

Other Info

There is a $150 fee to be submitted with each team's application.

Startup teams will be split into two separate tracks: Seed-Ready and Pre-seed. The Seed-Ready teams will compete for $100,000 in startup capital. The Pre-seed teams will compete for grants ranging from $20,000 - $25,000.
