Do you have an idea for a new product or service? One of this year’s newest attractions at the Nebraska State Fair will be the N-Vision pitch contest. N-Vision is an elevator pitch competition to promote innovation and entrepreneurship among high school students grades 9-12; college students; and open class (anyone). The contest will recognize and reward individuals that submit ideas for new products or services that display the greatest potential to improve lives and succeed in the marketplace and win up to $2,500 in prize money. This money can be used to help start your business idea.
Each contest entry is required to submit a 250 word essay, which will be evaluated based on its technical feasibility, market potential and social impact. Submission deadline is midnight, August 9, 2012. From the entries submitted, there will be a finalist round during the Nebraska State Fair being held on August 27th at theBosselmanConferenceCenter, beginning at 4:00 pm. Finalist will then have 3 minutes to pitch their ideas to a panel of business professionals. State Fair visitors are encouraged to attend this event.
MarlanFerguson, President of the Grand Island Area Economic Development Corporation stated “this is a tremendous opportunity for individuals to present their dream project to experts, obtain feedback, network with business and community leaders, and even win cash prizes”.
