For second year in a row, Accelerate Michigan Innovation Competition awards big prize money

Over $1 million in cash and in-kind prizes were awarded by this year’s Accelerate Michigan Innovation Competition. Touting the title “North America’s largest business plan competition,” Accelerate Michigan drew a total of 312 company entries and 298 student entries. Grand prize winner DeNovo Sciences received $500,000 in cash, with the runner-up prize of $150,000 going to Fusion Coolant Systems. The grand prize winner in the student category received a $25,000 prize. The Accelerate Michigan Innovation Competition is a collaboration of the Business Accelerator for Southeast Michigan, the New Economy Initiative, Business Leaders for Michigan, the University Research Corridor, and the Michigan Economic Development Corporation.
