Sanergy, Wello among winners of 2011 Global Social Entrepreneurship Competition
A solution to the “flying toilet” problem in the slums of Kenya and a “water-carrying wheel” were two of the stand-out business ventures in this year’s Global Social Entrepreneurship Competition, held by the University of Washington’s Foster School of Business. According an article by Humanosphere, there were many impressive competitors with innovative business ideas to solve the world’s health, environmental, social, and justice problems, but Sanergy was awarded the $12,500 top prize because of their ability to answer all of the judges questions on every aspect of their business proposal.
